Named in honour of Wakeful, one of the greatest mares ever to grace Australian turf, we exist to champion the networking, recognition and advancement of women across the industry.

Get Nominated
You’ll need to be nominated and seconded by two current full members of the Victorian Wakeful Club. Not sure who to ask? Reach out and we’ll help connect you with someone who can help get the ball rolling.

Apply
Complete the online membership form below, including a recent photo and a short personal profile covering your connection to racing or thoroughbred breeding and why you’d like to join.

Review
Your application is presented to the Committee and Members of the Club, who have 14 days to raise any queries. We’ll keep you updated by email throughout the process.

Welcome
Once approved, you’ll be formally welcomed at our next General Meeting or Social Event, presented with your silver ‘W’ pin, and introduced to your fellow members.
Membership Fees and Requirements
Your annual membership fee of $155 includes invitations to all Club events, member communications, and — for new members — your complimentary silver ‘W’ pin, valued at $50. As a not-for-profit, your fee directly supports the scholarships and industry initiatives the Club funds each year.
To apply, you’ll need two current VWC members to nominate and second you, along with a recent photo and a short personal profile covering your connection to racing and why you’d like to join.
